Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Service

Your vehicle's tires are important for so many reasons. They're crucial for driving stability and control, steering, and braking. However, for the tires to perform as they're intended to, they must be properly inflated. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System, or TPMS, is a crucial vehicle feature to help drivers know when there's an issue with under or overinflation in one or more tires.

Professional TPMS Repair Service

There are two types of TPMS: direct systems and indirect systems.

Direct TPMS relies on sensors near each tire to measure tire pressure, while indirect relies on software to measure air pressure in each tire. Direct TPMS is the more common type of pressure monitoring system.

Bring your vehicle in for TPMS testing and repair, no matter whether you have a direct or indirect system. Our professionally-trained technicians will get to the bottom of any issue effectively and efficiently.

The Role of Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

The main function of your vehicle's TPMS is to alert you when one or more of your tires are either under or overinflated. It's a key safety feature that can help prevent issues when driving with under or overinflated tires.

For instance, overinflated tires won't grip the road as well and could lead to a loss of traction. Conversely, underinflated tires increase friction between the road and the tire, which could lead to overheating and the risk of a tire blowout.

Aside from potential safety issues, under or overinflated tires also decrease fuel efficiency and may result in increased tread wear.

Listening to your TPMS and ensuring that your tires are inflated per your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations can help prevent many of these issues.

Signs of a Broken TPMS

There are many signs to watch for that could indicate TPMS service is necessary. Some of these include:

  • A flashing TPMS light on your dashboard.
  • If your tire pressure readings are inaccurate. Consider picking up a tire pressure gauge to double-check your TPMS reading if you suspect there could be a problem.
  • Poor fuel economy from under or overinflated tires. It's estimated that properly inflated tires can save drivers up to 11 cents per gallon on fuel.
  • You're unable to reset the TPMS warning light.

What We Provide

Typically, TPMS service repair includes a careful inspection and replacement of the sensors that help indicate when there's an issue with your tire pressure. Sensors may fail due to old age or impact damage from a collision. They may also fail due to potential issues with your car battery. When you bring your vehicle to one of our shops, you can rest assured we'll get to the bottom of any TPMS problem and get this important feature working correctly again.
